Commonly used socio-economic research types are described below.
It is important to identify target group, community and basic local conditions and to estimate project impact in order to effectively plan and implement socio-economic projects.
MMCG company has performed over 60 baseline surveys of international projects implemented in Mongolia since 2002; hence, it develops and uses own research process and methodology based on related international research methodology.
Sectoral survey is conducted with the purpose to develop a policy and/or solution for the target socio-economic sector. This type of survey studies multilateral issues such as socio-economic impacts of the sector, Main criteria for the sector performance, inter-sector and international comparisons, conclusions and international practices.
We are ready for a challenge to conduct baseline surveys for the sectors without previous studies, with incomplete studies, or newly emerging or internationally trending sectors.
It is possible to plan and implement works on changing people’s stereotypes and practices by identifying the knowledge, attitude and practice of a certain group of the public/community.
We have experiences of conducting this type of survey on human right, law, environment, public health and education issues. Policy research is an activity for policy makers and decision-makers to analyze target issue with established methodology in certain period, to use previous researches and theories, and to calculate consequences of the policy options.
Policy research and development aims to forecast potential consequences of changing certain condition (variable) through policy changes, and to systematically present and measure policy options to solve the problem.
When making laws and regulations, the legislators must (i) anticipate the needs, (ii) evaluate its effects, (iii) calculate related costs, (iv) monitor the implementation, and (v) evaluate implementation results.
We conduct this type of survey by the methodology based on the Law on Legislature and accompanying methodologies, international practices and methodologies. In particular, evaluation of the rule of Law on Gender Equality was our first evaluation and best practice and it was highly evaluated by the stakeholders.
In order to effectively realize any goal or plan and achieve the set goal, it is important to conduct this type of survey regularly and make continuous improvements.
We conduct monitoring and evaluation based on the principles of objective researches, transparency, participation, and independence. The deliberative polling is a research methodology and a democratic tools, which uses the public opinions innovatively and creatively for making decisions on social issues.
In 2015, our company conducted the Deliberative polling for the first time in Mongolia for ranking the projects to be implemented in the capital city until 2030 jointly with the Asia Foundation and Ulaanbaatar Governor’s Office by using the methodology by the Stanford University.
